While taking a shower this morning several things came to mind.

First thought - dummy, you FORGOT to blog yesterday. Arggggggggh, how could I forget? It's not like my day was filled with important tasks, or I was crazy-busy running errands, or I was lost in some flow of creative juices. Nope, yesterday was just another ordinary day. Oh well, it's not like I haven't already blown the blog-every-day resolution anyway (and for the record, my blogging buddy, Pam of Sometimes It's Cloudy, Sometimes It's Clear is doing so much better at this than me).

Second thought - I wonder if the Ground Hog saw his shadow today?

Yes, I really did think about groundhogs while showering. I mean, it is February 2nd right? And who doesn't think about groundhogs on this day? Hello, it's February 2nd...you know, Ground Hog Day??

We all know that on this day every year people from all over the country wait with baited breath to see if Punxsutawney Phil Punxsutawney Phil, the weather predicting groundhog, is placed on his stump during annual Groundhog Day festivities Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, in Punxsutawney, Pa. The Groundhog Club claimed that Phil did not see his shadow and predicted that winter has ended on Groundhog Day. up in Pennsylvania and/or General Beauregard Lee Beau doesn't like to be reminded of this, but he had a big miss in 1993, when a massive blizzard followed his early spring prediction. here in Georgia will emerge from their home and openly declare (hopefully) "Spring is on the way!" Because, you know, some groundhogs can talk, right? And, even more important, they make Spring come early because they have some sort of psychic ability/super power right?

Well, if you believe all that gobbly-gook then you'll be please to know that according to BOTH groundhogs we are in for an early spring this year. I'm sure the people in the mid-west and north-east are singing happy tunes right now....or they will be as soon as they climb out from under the mounds of snow outside their front door.
my niece in Connecticut took this photo of her neighbor's car - at least she claims there's a car there, I guess we'll find out when the Spring thaw comes. Which, by the way, Spring comes EVERY year on March 20th. It doesn't matter what Phil or General Lee says. So there!

And for all you cheering Atlantans - remember 1993? Major bust on that prediction Beauregard! Let's hope there isn't a repeat this year because according to your handler "He better live up to it," Rilling joked. "Or we'll be having groundhog biscuits around here." Early Spring!

Third thought - what can I eat for breakfast this morning? For some reason biscuits don't sound so good right now.

And finally, with all these deep thoughts, I leave you with this

Funny Picutres - Happy Groundhog Day!

the real reason we're going to have an early Spring this year!
